Navigating Ethics Together

We bridge the gap between complex medical research and everyday ethical dilemmas. Through real-world case studies and thoughtful discussions, we make bioethics accessible for a global community.

The Bioethics Brief’s Mission

The Bioethics Brief is an independent educational bioethics blog that makes complex medical ethics accessible, evidence-based, and thoughtful. Our platform is dedicated to students, healthcare professionals, and curious readers seeking clarity on moral philosophy in medicine.

Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Alexia Abramova.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology and am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences as I prepare for a career in medicine.

Throughout my education, I became fascinated by a question that extends beyond science itself: Just because medicine can do something, does that mean it should?

From groundbreaking advances in genetics and artificial intelligence to end-of-life care and patient autonomy, modern medicine is filled with ethical questions that rarely have simple answers. I created The Bioethics Brief to explore these challenges in a way that is accessible, evidence-based, and thought-provoking.

In addition to my academic background, I completed a Bioethics certificate through HarvardX on edX, where I further explored the ethical principles that guide healthcare, research, and medical innovation.

My goal is not to tell readers what to think, but to provide the knowledge and context needed to engage with some of medicine's most complex and important conversations. Whether you're a student, healthcare professional, or simply curious about the ethical issues shaping our world, I hope this platform encourages you to think critically, ask questions, and appreciate the human side of medicine.

Thank you for being here, and welcome to The Bioethics Brief.
